Oriola Oy to become Abbott’s distributor in Finland

Oriola Oy and Abbott Oy, the Finnish subsidiary of the international Abbott Laboratories Group, have entered into an agreement on the distribution of Abbott’s products  as of 1 January 2012.

Abbott Oy, which is the Finnish subsidiary of global health care company Abbott Laboratories, specialises in the import, wholesale and marketing of pharmaceuticals, hospital supplies, and blood glucose meters and test strips. Abbott Oy employs 105 members of staff in Finland and is based in Olari, Espoo. The company was established in Finland in 1997. However, Abbott’s products have been on sale in Finland since the 1960s. Abbott Oy's net sales in 2010 totalled EUR 65.6 million. Abbott Oy’s core areas include antiviral drugs, anti-HIV medicines, immunology, oncology, neurology and nephrology.
