On March, Oriola and K Group announced that they will establish a joint venture to build a new nationwide store chain concentrating on health, beauty and wellbeing products and services. A management board, composed of the managing director and the directors responsible for sales, selection and marketing, has been established to plan the operations of the joint venture to be established.
Tuomas Mattelmäki, M.Sc. (Econ.), who has acted as the Business Unit Director, Brands of Oriola Oy, will be the Managing Director of the future joint venture. Mattelmäki has a long experience in the pharmaceutical sector. For over seven years before joining Oriola, he acted as the Commercial Director of Johnson&Johnson and before that, he held several positions at McNeil, Pfizer and Unilever.
Taiju Jaatinen, M.Sc. (Econ.), will be the Digital Business Sales Director of the future joint venture. Previously, she has acted as the Development Director of Kesko’s New Business Operations and has held other positions in business development and project operations. The Selection Director will be Pharmacist Anna Surakka, who has acted as the Marketing Director, Brands of Oriola Oy, and has held other managerial positions in marketing, sales and selection management at Oriola since 2005. In addition, Marjo Jalava, M.Sc. (Econ.), will be the Marketing and Concept Director. For the last four years, she has worked in concept development of Kesko’s grocery trade division.
In addition, persons responsible for human resources and finances in the new chain will be appointed this spring.
The establishment of the joint venture of Oriola and Kesko and the roles now announced will become effective after the approval of the competition authority.
