On Tuesday 6th June, a group of representatives from veterinary medicine companies came together over breakfast to hear about the challenges associated with veterinary medicines. Paula Kajaste, Coordinator for marketing authorisations, Fimea, told about the quality of product information texts of veterinary medicinal products and the related challenges. In the centralised procedure, the overall quality of translations is good and the QRD template is followed. However, Paula Kajaste noted that especially in the decentralised and mutual recognition procedure, the quality of translations varies and pointed out that it would be beneficial if the applicant had a Finnish-speaking contact person.
In addition, the use of Nordic packaging is challenging. Co-operation related to labelling works quite well, but Paula Kajaste reminded the companies that in order to avoid unnecessary delays it would be good to notify Fimea about common packages at the latest before handling of the translations.
Expert services to support veterinary medicines companies
For successful entry of a product into the market, the framework should be in good order. The service selection of Oriola expert services (formerly Farenta) is the widest in Finland and we can offer our customers help and support specifically at those phases where it is needed.
- Our Translations Team is specialised particularly in medical translations and we are familiar with veterinary medicines. We co-operate closely with our regulatory affairs experts when processing product information texts, and thanks to the versatile professional background and extensive experience of our translators, we are also able to provide the customer other materials they might need for their product, says Translations Team Lead Liisa Mahlamäki.
