Oriola joined United Nations’ Global Compact, a worldwide sustainability initiative, in February 2018. In the spring 2019, we reported our actions and progress related to the 10 principles of the initiative for the first time.
Global Compact is a strategic policy initiative for businesses that are committed to aligning their operations and strategies with ten universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption. With more than 9,000 corporate signatories in 159 countries, the Global Compact is the world’s largest voluntary corporate sustainability initiative.
“By joining Global Compact initiative, we are demonstrating our commitment to sustainable business practises. Through our Code of Conduct that outlines our ethical principles, our approach is already in line with the Ten Principles of the Global Compact. More than 2,000 of Oriola employees have completed the Code of Conduct training since it was launched in 2018,” says Katja Tolkki, Head of Sustainability at Oriola.
